1875 Victorian - Renovation
Kitchen + Phased Plan
“quote” - Client
Well preserved 1875 Victorian home, with an out of place and time kitchen. Initially the owner intended to remove an abandoned fireplace between the dining room and kitchen, but wanted to still maintain the original interior layout as much as possible. Early sketches indicated that they could keep the homes original layout of separate rooms and not compromise the design goals, allowing them to save time and costs. Countertop space grew by 20% and storage increased by 75%.
Goals: Modern kitchen, maximize storage, island with a sink/bar area, and a light/airy atmosphere, relocate powder room outside of the kitchen. Renovate the primary bathroom.
Location: Pella, Iowa
Status: Completed 2022, Kitchen. Remainder to start late 2025.
