1986 Eccentric - Renovation
Kitchen
This 1986 eccentric home had a hexagon kitchen that included space for one cook at a time. It also featured a window into the kitchen from the lounge with cabinets on every possible wall. The end result rotated the kitchen ignoring the original 45 degree angles to modernize the space and enlarged pantry. As the cabinetry was in such good condition, they were reused as much as possible, limiting the number of new that had to be made to match.
Countertop and cabinet quantities were able to stay the same, despite the reconfiguration.
Goals: Entertaining kitchen, space for more than one cook, light/airy atmosphere, and open to the remainder of the house.
